It is customary for Starbucks Philippines to unveil new food items, beverages, and of course, the Starbucks Planner every Christmas season. But last year was extra special with the Starbucks Partners Christmas Cup Design Contest which was part of the Christmas Kick-Off Party held at Bonifacio High Street.

Moreover, NomNom Club was offered the opportunity to be one of the three judges in that competition.

The Top 3 Starbucks Partners Christmas Cup Design Contest 2012 Winners took home cashprizes and Starbucks merchanidise including Starbucks Planners and GCs

Furthermore, the contest had an open category for interested participants from the public called “Turn it Red” where they should turn a white Starbucks cup into red by drawing on it using red pens (no other materials are allowed on the cup). Three winners were chosen and announced at the Starbucks Philippines Facebook Page. The winners got Starbucks Planners, Starbucks mousepads, Starbucks keychains, Starbucks Stainless Steel cups, Starbucks Gift Certificates and more!

Albeit ‘very’ belatedly, congratulations to the winners!

The seasonal Starbucks Red Cup has been symbolic for the iconic franchised coffee brand every Christmas season and creative activities such as these reinforces its tradition.

I hope they bring back the Starbucks Partners Christmas Cup Design Contest in 2014 and open it to customer-participants as well. 🙂

Customers await this time of the year for the return of their favorite Starbucks Christmas products and to start collecting stickers to redeem their favorite Starbucks Planner 2012. But before I reveal the 2012 Starbucks Shared Planet Planner, let’s take a look at the old Starbucks Planners of the past 8 years. 🙂

Thanks to Starbucks, I was privileged to join a group of bloggers at the recent unveiling of the 2012 Starbucks Planners! Everyone was excited to see how the 2012 planner would look like!

Now, on its 9^th year, and for the first time, this year, your favorite Starbucks Planner will be available in five (5) unique covers (Polar, Cherry, Spruce, Bamboo and Oak).

The planner was produced in a facility that is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. This is an organization established to promote responsible management of the world’s forest. How cool is that? 🙂

The Starbucks Planner 2012 was made for a cause! For every planner redeemed, a donation will be made to Spark Hope, a program for early childhood care and development in partnership with UNICEF.

Exactly three days from now, you can avail of a Starbucks Christmas traditional  promo card and collect stickers! From November 3, 2011 to January 8, 2012. One sticker is awarded for each Starbucks beverage purchase.

How To Get A Starbucks Planner and Coupon Redemption

Customers have two (2) options in collecting stickers to redeem one (1) Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2012 Planner.

Thank you all for participating in this year’s Starbucks Planner 2011 Giveaway Contests. First on the writing contest, and next on the FB photo-comment contest. 🙂

Pardon the slight delay in the announcement as I had to validate and filter for the unique comments in the photo entries in which one even had an awesome 1,029 comments. On the other hand, reading through your Christmas stories with the theme of ‘sharing‘ was also heartwarming. Many entries were very creative as well.

I also invited Sebs Yu from  Marriage Journeys blogsite to be a co-judge in the “Share Your Stories.”. So we averaged our scores and came up with the winner based on the criteria.

Without further adieu, the winner of the the Share Your Stories writing contest with an average score of 88.5% is “Thinking April” with her blog post entitles “Last Christmas.” It was her personal story of sharing and letting go of old things albeit with sentimental value. Congratulations! You will receive a Starbucks 2011 Planner soon!

Following her in second and third place with a tie score of 84.5% are “Sharing  This Christmas Season” from Make Melodies and Snicker Ho Hum.

And for the Photo-Comment entries, the greatest number of comments we had was 1,029. But since we are looking for the unique number of comments, we had to validate and trim them down.

The winner, who had originally 146 comments, and after validation was filtered to 110 unique comment entries is the photo by Jian Marla Reyes. Congratulations! You also receive a Starbucks 2011 Planner!

In second and third places are Krismer Acuesta who had 78 unique comments out of 298 and Joanne Garces Gonzales with 71 unique comments out of 1, 029. (all values include the +5 in comment to Digital Manila)
