I’m no avid coffee-drinker but I do get my good cup from time to time either through my wife who loves to brew some in the morning, or from the nearby Starbucks branch whenever I’m on the road.
But my question at this point is what do you love to partner with your coffee? A dessert or something sweet, perhaps? 🙂
I’d like to share with you my recent discovery from Lotus Biscoff.
Lotus Biscoff Biscuit Cookies
You might have come across the brand through its famous bottles of Lotus Biscoff Spread in the creamy or crunchy variety. But what I’m introducing you to is a related product – the Lotus Biscoff Biscuit Cookies which is a favorite coffee partner in most of Europe since the 1950s.
Did you know that it became America’s favorite biscuit with coffee during air travel when Lotus introduced Biscoff as an in-flight treat in 1985 through the exhausting long flights? It became a welcome mid-flight break that reminded fliers of the comforts of home and helped them relax. Lotus is still offered in Delta Air Lines (US), Brussels Airlines (Belgium), Middle East Airlines (Lebanon) and El Al (Israel).
The good news is that this Belgian specialty is now closer to home as it was officially launched in the Philippines a few months ago. Coming just in time when the Philippine coffee industry is welcoming third wave coffee, Lotus Biscoff aims to elevate coffee experience of Filipinos further.
Lotus Biscoff Launch in the Philippines
Hinged on the concept of “Every Coffee Cup Needs A Lotus“, the launch was held at the posh Society Lounge in Makati as it was transformed into a luxurious red airport lounge with Daphne-Osena Paez as host. Overflowing coffee was served by Allegro Beverage Corporation upon seating and dishes were carefully prepared by Chef Patrice Freuslon.
The program was led by Fly Ace Corporation President Jun Cochanco and Lotus Bakeries-Belgium International Distributors General Manager Bart Bauwens.  They shared how the partnership started and their plans for Lotus Biscoff in the country.
Furthermore, a highlight of the event was the Biscoff Creations of Tiny Kitchen’s Vicky Veloso-Barrera. Her interpretation of the Lotus Biscoff biscuits and spreads include Mini Biscoff Cinnamon Rolls, soft bread glazed with Lotus Biscoff spread and topped with toasted almonds.
Mini Biscoff Cupcakes is a perfect recipe for first-time cupcake bakers as its main ingredient is a simple dollop of Lotus Biscoff Spread Crunchy and Biscoff crumbs. Another creation is the Crazy Biscoff Parfait, a lavish dessert of sponge cake, mascarpone, and Lotus Biscoff Spread Smooth.
Discover Lotus Biscoff
The unique taste of Lotus Biscoff comes from the sugar’s caramelization during the baking process. A hint of cinnamon and other spices add a special twist. Both the cookies and the famous Lotus Biscoff spread are made with no artificial color or preservatives, 0 grams trans-fat per serving and zero cholesterol. It has no nuts and is completely non-GMO.
So if you haven’t tasted Lotus Biscoff cookies, make sure to take a bite of the deliciously crunchy Lotus Biscoff caramelized biscuit with your next cup of hot coffee. Know more about Lotus Biscoff at their website http://www.biscoff.com/ and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/LotusBiscoffPH #discoverlotusbiscoff
