Shopwise Gave Moms a Mother’s Day Treat + Recipes

Last weekend, Shopwise hosted a Mother’s Day Treat and gathering inside their Shopwise Alabang branch at Festival Mall where cooking lessons by Chef Jee Mingoa were held much to the mom’s delight.

Th e Shopwise event was followed by a wine show and wine flairing by no less than Philippines Wine Flairing president Mr. Joseph Apostol.

Another highlight was the brief Wine 101 presentation by Mattia Mauri featuring wines from Australia – specifically the Beach Hut, Chain of Fire, and Lakefield brands.

Cooking with Wine & Wine Recipes

Surprisingly, moms in the audience were curious enough and is excited as recipes by Chef Jee using wines were presented.

These included the Pan-Fried Fish Fillet with Caper Tomato and Creamy Beef Paprikash.

The recipes and procedure are posted below.

Mr. Joseph Apostol further spiced up the gathering when he showcased his wine flairing talent tossing around as much as 4 bottles to some tunes and fast beats.

He also showcased some wine recipes including ‘Blossoming Mom‘ with ‘The Family Trentham‘ wine and Mamita el Mojito using Cranswick Lakefield.

Lastly, Mattia Mauri educated the crowd on how to properly evaluate wines and taste them. He highlighted as well the wine recipe of ‘Citrus Sunshine‘ using ‘BeachHut Australia‘.

Mother’s Day Treat Presenters

As a backgrounder, Chef Jee is the seasoned chef of Alchemy Bar and Bistro. He is an expert in French, Western, and Mediterranean cuisine.

Mr. Joseph Apostol, on the other hand, is the president of the Philippine Wine Flairing organization.

The last presenter, Mattia Mauri, is a wine expert who hailed from Italy. He started learning about wine right after school in Europe before moving to Australia recently this year to further develop his skills and knowledge. He represents a certain number of Australian wines being sold at Shopwise among which the top selling Beach Hut, Chain of Fire and Lakefield brands.

His specialty are Italian and Australian wines in particular.
