Figaro Offers New Breakfast Sliders & Rice Meals
May 19th, 2014 — Affairs, Casual, Chinese, Coffee Shops, Cravings, Cuisine, Filipino, Fusion, New Brews, Promos / Events, Quick Service, Restaurants, Western
The urban lifestyle of the average working Filipino is composed of a busy morning going to work, and of course, the work itself. Amidst all these, the Filipino breakfast diet still loves his cup of rice with his meal. Figaro recognizes this and has come up with a morning energy-food set with the “Rice Meal” set for the rice lovers and the “Breakfast Slider“.
Figaro Rice Meals @ Php 99
Figaro, the first Filipino coffee company, brings the Filipinos’ favorite Rice Meals all day any day. Choose from delectable Classic Asado, Pork Tenderloin in Asian Pesto Sauce (top photo), Traditional Adobo, and Breaded Fish with Plum Sauce for Php 199.
The first one is a bite of sweet Classic Asado Rice Meal composed of slices of Chinese-Filipino braised pork asado with rice and a cup of Figaro’s 8oz brewed coffee. The second one is a garlicky Pork Tenderloin Rice Meal (top photo) drizzled with Asian Pesto Sauce served with cucumber and tomato salsa with rice.
The last two are the Traditional Adobo and the Breaded Fish with Plum Sauce. The former is symbolic of Philippine
cuisine pride called Adobo. Although different regions in the Philippines have their own unique way of  cooking their adobo, it is basically a soft stewed pork cooked in soy sauce, vinegar and garlic combining sweet, sour, and salty tastes. Figaro‘s version is served with tomato-cucumber salsa and rice to complement the complete Filipino meal.
Finally, if you are not in the mood for some meat, you can enjoy the Breaded Fish Rice Meal. The seemingly simple breaded cream dory fish crisp-fried served with cucumber-tomato salsa and rice is made  special and unique with the plum sauce.
Recommendations
After trying all four earlier tonight in a taste-test party at Figaro Taipan Place in Ortigas, NomNom Club highly recommends the Pork Tenderloin Rice Meal in Asian Pesto Sauce. It uniquely combines the salt, sweet, and sour taste into the tender pork hihglighted by Figaro’s sweet pesto sauce.
This is followed by the sweet Classic Asado which taps Filipino’s inclination for sweeter entrees. Lastly, you can
also try the Traditional Adobo Rice Meal.
Breakfast Sliders
Figaro also crafted something new for people on-the-go – the Breakfast Sliders. For only Php 139, you get a choice of 2Â from the 4 Breakfast Slider choices with a cup of your favorite brewed coffee.
The variants include the Egg Slider, Bacon and Egg Slider, Tapa Slider, and Zucchini Slider.
The Egg Slider obviously comes with scrambled eggs and has tomatoes and lettuce to match while the second one includes a crisp-fried bacon. On the other hand, the Tapa Slider has mushrooms and, of course, tapa. The last one is an all-veggie favorite consisting of zuchhini, peppers, grilled eggplant slices, tomatoes and lettuce with a slice of cheese as well.
So grab a bite of sandwich anytime of the day or before going to an important business meeting.
Whether you want to binge on rice meals anytime of the day or have a quick bite, you can drop by Figaro Coffee for some Rice Meal set or Breakfast Sliders. Both are served with a cup of 8oz brewed coffee.

The odd name of One Way Street Restaurant derives from its neatly tuck location at the corner streets of Salcedo and Benavidez in Legaspi Village in Makati; they are both one-way streets.
New Brew: Jollibee Creamy Shakes
May 1st, 2014 — Affairs, Beverage, Casual, Cravings, Cuisine, Dessert, Filipino, Fusion, New Brews, Promos / Events, Quick Service, Restaurants, Sweet Shops, Western
A brand new beverage for a brand new month! Aside from the scorching summer heat, that must be what Jollibee had in mind when they decided to introduce the Jollibee Creamy Shakes today – May 1.
It was good timing as well since May 1 is a holiday in the Philippines. For sure most families would be on the road or in the malls right about now having a good time….and perhaps sharing a meal or two in a Jollibee store. 🙂
Jollibee Creamy Shakes
So what are these “creamy shakes“? They come in a fresh-looking blue paper cup, a contrast from the usual red and white Jollibee theme. The first variant is made with chocolate goodness and topped with a rich Hershey’s Chocolate syrup. If you have the sweet tooth and loves chocolates, this is for you.
It’s also available in strawberry flavor which is a mix of vanilla soft-serve with strawberry syrup. I prefer the strawberry more over the chocolate as per taste.
I tried mixing the two and the result was awesome. I loved it even more! My Chocoberry Creamy Shake! 😛 Both flavors are priced at P39 per serving but you can save some more if you pair it with some of Jollibee’s regular combo meals.
Jollibee Combo Meals
You can add the creamy shakes with you favorite Jollibee combo meal such as the following :
- Regular Yum + Regular Crispy Fries + Jollibee Creamy Shake = Php 89
- Regular Yum with Cheese + Regular Jolly Crispy Fries + Creamy Shake = Php 99
- Jolly Hotdog Classic + Regular Fries + Jollibee Creamy Shake = Php 99
I really love their recent dessert offering called Jollibee Kit Kat Mix-Ins which I have been ordering quite frequently the past few weeks. The creamy shake is a good alternative, however it’s categorically a beverage and not a dessert and it doesn’t have crushed ice with it as much as I have hoped.
So check out the Jollibee branch nearest you and try their creamy treat with the all new Jollibee Creamy Shakes! Both chocolate and strawberry flavors are now available in all Jollibee branches nationwide until June 30, 2014.
