SM Master Chefs‘ ‘Kitchen Makeover‘ will have five lucky shoppers’ kitchens redesigned and furnished by partner designers. This project will be done in partnership with established designers from the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID).

The five Interior Designers are IDr. Vianca Añonuevo, IDr. JC Arcega, IDr. Mark Steven Perez, IDr. Joselito Soriano, Jr., and IDr. Anne Marie Christine Lim. The first three are partner interior designers of Empire Designs. The latter two are partners of Soriano-Lim Interior Design.

Kitchen Makeover Mechanics

July 1 to October 31, 2011

1.    To join, interested shoppers must submit:

• P500 single receipt purchase, including at least one sponsor item of SM Master Chefs, entitles a customer to join the promo.
• Registration forms will be available at the Customer Service Counter of SM Hypermarket.
• Registration forms must be filled up with his/her complete name, address, age, occupation, contact numbers, signature and a written answer, in 50 words or less, to the question: Why does my kitchen deserve a free makeover?
• Attached at least three (3) clear printed photos of their home kitchen.
• Enclose filled up registration forms and pictures in an envelope and drop on the designated drop boxes at the Customer Service counters of all SM Hypermarket branches.

2.    All entries shall be delivered by the branches to Marketing Head Office at the end of deadline.
3.    There will be a total of five (5) winners of Kitchen Make-Over.
4.    SM Hypermarket Marketing staff shall go through all entries and pick one winner at each judging date.  DTI representative shall be invited to witness the selection of winners.
5.   Winners will be notified via registered mail and phone.
6.    An interior designer shall design a kitchen for the winner. He/she shall also determine the items that will
be used. Items shall be purchased at SM Hypermarket.
7.    The winner should be the owner of the kitchen or if rented, must have written consent of the owner.
8.    Employees of SM Hypermarket, all sponsors, it’s partners, its affiliates, and all companies and individual directly or indirectly connected with SM Hypermarket, its agency Ad Targets, Inc. and their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity are disqualified from joining the promo.

Control Measures:

All registration forms shall be submitted after the deadline of submission of entries to the marketing office for safekeeping under the custody of the Marketing Manager. A DTI representative will be invited to be present in the determination of winners. Per DTI-NCR Permit No. 4959, Series of 2011

On its 10th anniversary, SM Hypermarket sets its sights on creating milestones with its SM Master Chefs 2011 program.

Together with 19 master brands, SM Hypermarket will enliven the culinary world’s insatiable hunger for innovation with the launch of the SM Master Chefs. It will be a composite event made up of three components:

• A Grand Cooking Demo & Cooking Marathons
• A Supersized Cook Off Series
• Kitchen Makeovers

The nineteen master brands are Knorr, Nestle All Purpose Cream, Unilever Food Solutions, Tabasco, Lee Kum Kee, Lady’s Choice, Maggi, Clara Ole, Kikkoman Soy Sauce, San Remo, McCormick, Bounty Fresh Chicken, CDO, Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdog, Purefoods Star Hotdog, Magnolia Cheeze spread, Magnolia Purefresh, Magnolia All Purpose Cream and Magnolia Dari Crème. Each a familiar staple in today’s Filipino kitchen who joins SM Hypermarket to feed the culinary world’s insatiable hunger for innovation.

Cooking Marathon

From July to September, every week in three months, SM Master Chefs will conduct a marathon of cooking demos that will tour SM Hypermarket branches all over the nation, showcasing innovations in culinary products and cooking aids.

More than just a source of entertainment for the onlookers, the Cooking Demos will also be a venue of culinary discovery for people who are passionate about cooking.

Furthermore, a Supersized Cook Off series will also tour selected branches in the country by October.

We’ll go around the country like SM Hypermarket in Cubao, Batangas, Pampanga, and Cebu, among others!

Kitchen Makeover

Lastly, the Kitchen Makeover will be more hands on with the kiychens of five lucky SM Hypermarket customers who will get their kitchen upgraded by soome of the best interior designers in the country for free!

Their kitchens will be redesigned and furnished in partnership with established designers from the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID).

MAFBEX Registration / Entrance Ticket Fee

I think my window shopping skills in large scale food business-related exhibits and expositions like the recent MAFBEX has already matured.

Before, it used to take me several hours as I visit each one of them.

Nnow, it’s down to two hours include watching whatever show or seminar that is going on during my visit; in this case – Flair Cup 2011.

Flair Cup is a flairing competition among students of competing colleges and universities which usually offer HRM-related courses.

Of the foods that I have bought and tasted, it was the Korean Egg Cake which hit the mark. It’s very similar to French Toast but the egg is ‘cooked’ on top of the bread using a special machine similar to one used in making Japanese cakes.

There was also the P10 Halo-halo which is obviously a gave-away. This was a good marketing strategy by the merchant who sells halo-halo ingredients so he can have the people taste her products without the freeloaders. 😛
