Sarap with Family & Jennelyn Mercado

Eating can be an enjoyable activity even all by ourselves, but more so if we’re eating with friends or as a family. This is the message “Sarap with Family” on GMA wants to convey – the delights of cooking and eating with family and friends!

Hosted by versatile Kapuso actress Jennelyn Mercado, “Sarap with Family” provides its viewers with budget-friendly ulam recipes and main dishes.

On its second season, they are highlighting recipes made with the CDO brand. Expect most dishes to be whipped-up with CDO Ulam Burger, CDO Sea Quest Tuna, and CDO Liver Spread. There will be some recipes for merienda as well.

Sarap with Family Set Visit

Fortunately, NomNom Club was invited a few weeks ago for the set visit of “Sarap with Family” somewhere in a residence in Metro Manila. We met the gorgeous and bubbly Jennelyn Mercado in between her takes and the rest of the crew. We also got to witness how one of the episodes was recorded.

Jennelyn shared that she wasn’t into cooking in her younger years but eventually loved it and preparing dishes when she became a mother. She also loves hosting “Sarap with Family” since she is able to learn new dishes and tricks in the kitchen while shooting.

The house was huge and the kitchen appliances, first class. And of course, another highlight of the visit was tasting some of the sample dishes. You will eventually see these recipes turned into dishes by Jennelyn herself in the episodes of the show itself.

Sarap with Family Recipes

In the set visit, we were able to taste the Gising-Gising with CDO Seaquest Tuna, Pork Caldereta with CDO Liver Spread, Menudo with CDO Ulam Burger All-Purpose Beef Mix, and the Eggplant Frittata.

All were very good but I liked the Pork Caldereta with CDO Liver Spread and Gising-Gising with CDO Seaquest Tuna most.

The former had the liver spread add more texture in the dish while the latter proved that a vegetable-and-tuna team makes a great combination.
