3 Food Tours in 7 Days

It all started last Saturday, April 24 with the B.G.C Summer Passion Fest 2010 Food Tour at Fort Bonifacio in Taguig with renowned food and culture guide Ivan Man Dy lead the BGC food tour.

It was followed by a personal impromptu Tagaytay trip turned Tagaytay food tour three days later (April 27 & 28).

And now, I’m on the first day of the three-day Davao Food Appreciation Tour (DFAT) here in, where else – Davao City.

Yes, I didn’t realize it until today. In a span of seven days, I’ve been to three food tours across the Philippines while I’m now on the third one in Davao.

More details on NomNom‘s foodie adventures for the whole month of May from this three foodie escapades.

Good News

For now, check this out as the aforementioned Bonifacio High Street Food Tour has a part 2 tomorrow – May 1, 2010. Come and join tomorrow as it is open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. Walk-in registrants start 1pm. Event proper starts 2pm.

Briefly, last week, we had desserts at Sonja’s Cupcakes and Miss Desserts. This was followed by the main course in Sao. We also went to Pasto, Yoh-gurt Frost, and The Establishment. This week’s line up would be different with new restaurant-participants and some of the spots repeating.

Be prepared for Polu Kai, Italianni’s, Stock Market, Ice Cream Bar, Trio and Amber.

The registration concierge B8 along Bonifacio High Street is located near the front of Coffee Bean Tea Leaf BHS Branch. Tell the reception you were invited through NomNomClub and Ivan Man Dy. Again do take note that slots are limited and is available on a first come first serve basis.

Cibo is the only one which brought home the bacon for two categories while Lolo Dad’s got the most coveted title of Restaurant of the Year.

I have tried Lolo Dad’s Brasserie in Makati where I met Chef Ariel Manuel but I haven’t been to their main branch in Malate. I hope to do so soon.

I shared these information earlier online on-the-spot during the event through my twitter, plurk, and facebook network accounts. Among my networks, Shang Palace got the most cheers which tinkled my fancy about the restaurant.

I want to visit Shang Palace very soon! Congratulations to this year’s Nescafe Gold Spot Awardees!

Yin Yang Cooling Tea Enters Competitive Beverage Market

From the producers of C2 Green Tea, a new oriental-inspired drink enters the market called Yin Yang Cooling Tea.

Sounding more oriental than its mainstream predecessors, the ready-to-drink Yin Yang Cooling Tea is inspired by the Chinese belief that good health begins by maintaining balance in the body. According to traditional Chinese belief, the body has a condition called “internal heat” that can be caused by some food sources such as the fried and spicy ones.  This internal heat, or an excess of it, can cause imbalance in the body which may lead to sickness.

The “cooling tea” may help in this area as it is made from herbs that can take away the heat and restore the body’s natural balance. It is brewed from green tea leaves of Camellia Sinensis with three traditional Chinese cooling herbs, Mesona leaves (Camellia sinensis), Liquorice Root and Chrysanthemum flower.

Universal Robina Corporation’s (URC) added a twist to Yin Yang by incorporating it with a familiar taste to Filipinos – the black gulaman. I haven’t tried it yet but the strategy seems to be in the right direction. Will it last? The market will decide as Yin Yang Cooling tea seem to tap the young and health conscious market who are on the go – You! 🙂

Serye Cafe Filipino on Food Foto Fiesta

As promised, we’re bringing back Food Foto Fiesta.

I had a recent surprising discovery of a Filipino restaurant called Serye. It’s related to the classic Aristocrat restaurant that anyone above 20, and residing in the Philippines, would be familiar with.

Actually, Serye have been around for sometime but is currently re-branding from Serye Restaurant and Cafe, to Serye Cafe Filipino; but that story deserves a separate article altogether. Stay tuned for that in the coming weeks.

For now, feast on the 10 photos I recently took from their Eastwood Libis branch.

Christmas Hangover: Starbucks’ Dark Cherry Mocha

A month after the holidays, StarbucksDark Cherry Mocha still stayed on the menu board way after the other two holiday featured beverages Toffee Nut Latte and Peppermint Mocha was taken off the shelf – which is a good thing! 🙂

Give in to your chocolate craving with its combination of espresso, steamed milk, and bittersweet chocolate with dark cherry flavor; topped with whipped cream and cocoa powder.

And although the Starbucks Planner fever is over, it tastes like Christmas all over. 🙂

C2 1.5 Liters To Share!

With the number of parties and dinner celebrations this Christmas, running out of C2 is not a problem anymore.  A single C2 Green Tea 1.5L can serve upto 7 glasses and is priced at  P31.50 (SRP) per bottle.
