Criteria

The finalists were narrowed down to the top 10 in the duration of the search where different schools from Metro Manila were invited to build thematic Christmas trees using hundreds of C2 bottles in less than a month.

The entries were judged based on the following criteria:

  • C2 Sarap ng Christmas Theme: 40%
  • Creative Execution: 30%
  • Technical Execution: 30%

Ms. Viveca Singson, Corporate Communications Manager of JG Summit,  Ms. Cat Velayo, Account Director of PC&V,  Mr. Mark Acosta, Manager of URC Corporate Marketing Services Group, and Ms.Carla Chaves, Marketing Manager of URC Beverages – Tea Category, were among the judges of the said competition.

One of the crowd’s favorite – the creative entry from the University of the Philippines UP Artist Cricle Sorority – unfortunately was not able to get a place in the top 3 probably due to missing the first criteria where the judges were looking for a traditional Christmas tree. Nonetheless, it won the hearts from most of the crowd who got themselves some “selfies” with the attractive pinkish-red tree.

Real Leaf now with Honey!

There are like a gazillion of brands and variants of ready to drink bottled green tea drink these days. And most are basically the same until the new Real Leaf green tea with honey caught my attention.

Finally! Someone got one of my favorite healthy ingredient in these bottles.

I actually used to mix a spoonful of raw honey into my breakfast milk as a kid. I use it as a sugar substitute; talk about being health-conscious at such a young age! My mom used to buy boxes of honey bottles from downtown Chinatown in Binondo, Manila.

Honey can basically serve as energy booster, immunity enhancer, and  is a natural remedy healer for a number of ailments.

Real Leaf Green Tea

Real Leaf Green Iced Tea

You don’t just buy these honey bottles off the streets or grocery shelves here in the Philippines. The usual ones are either old stocks or mixed with water and sugar (volume for more profits). My folks have their way of smelling and scrutinizing the authentic and pure ones.

Back to the present, Real Leaf now mixes the natural goodness of honey with the natural green tea leaves. With a dose of theanine (amino acid naturally found in tea plants), add to that the health factors from honey. That’s like double the goodness and double the benefits.

And if that’s not enough to convince you, it further levels-up with three flavors namely Honey Apple, Honey Lemon and Honey Lychee. Choose your pick.

By the way, I’d like to extend my thanks to JP Manahan for allowing me to use his Real Leaf photos of us (above) during my blogosphere thanksgiving swimming party early this year.

The Brewing Process

Being a Cola-Cola product, Real Leaf iced tea boasts of its brewing process which is said to follow world-class standards based on years of experience and expertise of The Coca-Cola System. They are proud of maintaining freshness, quality, aroma and the rewarding benefits of natural tea. The green tea leaves they used are also sourced all the way from the Zhejiang region from the world producer of more than 70% of the total green tea output – China.

Noy-Bayani

NoyNoy Aquino

NoyNoy Aquino

I have also decided to share my choice for president in the person of Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III. In this election, I am giving my vote to the one I believe can make a true change in the government. I decided to choose a candidate who is criticized to lack experience and background but is dedicated to eliminating corruption and has a clear conscience.

Among all the presidentiables, I believe he is the one who will do what he said and fulfill with his best what he promised.

Bayani Fernando

Bayani Fernando

I choose Bayani Fernando for the capabilites he has shown and the changes and improvements he has implemented in Marikina City and the MMDA. A man of action with ideals for a disciplined public society.

For the senatoriables, my longlist include Ople, Hontiveros, Acosta, Cayetano, Guingona, Drilon, DefensorSantiago, Roco, De Venecia, Osmena (Serge), Tamano, Ocampo (Satur), Lim, Pimentel, and Enrile. Three more needs to be dropped. I still have the weekend to think it through. 🙂

The online community is encouraged to use the #juanvote hashtag for their reports and social comments on May 10, 2010.
