Mooncake Festival at Resorts World Manila

Coming from a Chinese family myself, the traditional mid-autumn celebration of Chinese Mooncake Festival is celebrated in at least some way or the other. In previous years, we did play the traditional Mooncake dice game with prizes among family members.

Although, we won’t be having one this year, it is comforting to know that the Mooncake tradition is still alive in most Chinese communities.

With a delicious tradition rich in history, the festival is strongly associated with the Moon Goddess of Immortality. It also represents the time of the year when the moon is at its fullest and marks the end of the harvest. It is traditionally celebrated with dances, moon viewing parties, and of course, partaking of mooncakes.

Like in Resorts World Manila (RWM) in Newport (Pasay City), the next three days’ celebrations focuse on the Chinese culture surrounding the Mooncake Festival. They have actually started these since last month with the Mooncake redemption promo. Casino slot machine players may use points earned from August 22 to September 24 to take home up to three mooncakes a day. 200 Mooncakes are available for redemption throughout the promo period.

From September 22 to 24, Resorts World Manila will also be rewarding cakes and tea at its Mooncake and High Tea mini-buffet for only 18 points. There would also be a daily Mooncake Raffle with 12 electronic raffle draws will be held each day from 3:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. at certain intervals. With four varieties of moon cake in each box, Mooncakes will also available for sale at Resorts World Manila’s Passion Restaurant.

Enjoy the Mooncake Festival with the Chinese and non-Chinese communities alike at the Resorts World Manila from Sept 22-24. For inquiries, you may call (632) 836-6333 or visit

  3. wow mooncakes!!! What I remember always and will treasure are the dice games associated with the mooncake festival happening every year at our Grandparents place.

Not only because we get to spend some family time together, but also we get to eat yummy treats, and mooncakes are always on top of the list. And of course how can we forget the loot that we get from the dice game. =) Now let me get my hands at these mooncakes from Resorts World Manila Hotels…. more family time!!!

Mooncake is such a big part of the Mid-Autumn Festival of Chinese, which, as we all know is one of the richest cultures there is in the world. This is such a good experience. =) Iwant some Mooncakes too!

  5. eventhough I’m not a chinese, I still enjoy Chinese food just like everybody else and mooncake is one of them. I still remember the ube-flavored mooncake my mom has brought us. The intricate details on top of it really caught my fancy.

With Resorts World Manila, hosting this celebration I’m sure that their mooncake will be so special just like the food at Ginzadon in RWM that I have tried. Their Jap Che is unforgettable! 😉

Though chinese by name, i haven’t really celebrated any mooncake festivities. It’s a perfect chance to celebrate one with Resorts World Manila Hotel’s mooncake gimmicks! I’m looking forward to blogging about it soon!

  7. I am always intrigued by this festival and I feel to have a hype when this festival comes in, I love moon cakes and also tikoy. My ancestors are half Chinese and even I don’t look like one, I love to celebrate Chinese festivals like the lunar new year….

I’ve been to Resorts World Manila Hotel for so many times. I’ve been to Republiq, tried the New Port Cinema and even had dinner there with some friends, so I’d say that indeed this place is the next “it” place in the metropolis. And now with their Mooncake Festival, I can’t wait to go back there and witness this exciting event. Thanks for sharing, Nomnom!

ikaw na!….ang suki sa RWM! 🙂

  10. The Chinese culture and the Mooncake festival deserve the utmost attention in appreciating the modern Filipino culture and this activity of Resorts World Manila should commune both cultures to the belief of good luck and prosperity Filipinos have assimilated from the Chinese before and after the colonization in history. I would love to have the opportunity to experience Resorts World’s Mooncake Festival and further teach fellow Filipinos of the rich Chinese culture.

  11. I always believed in lucky charms or anything that brings luck. And Mooncakes with inscriptions on longevity, harmony and luck brings additional pleasure to my belief. Am just so thrilled to learn that Resorts World will be celebrating their version of the Mooncake Festival. And am as excited as everyone else are and am pushing my luck to experience the festival; and of course share it with my readers. May everyone continue being blessed and happy.
