Top Commenters: November & December 2011

Finally, I was able to automate the identification of my monthly top commenters for my regular top commenter of the month contest. Thanks to the WordPress Top Commentators Widget.

Top Commenter Widget

The Top Commentators Widget which I installed at the latter part of last year automated the counting of the comments per commenter/commentator per month. I have to admit, I used to count it manually, pathetic, IKR. 🙂

Now, it could be found at the bottom leftside of the homepage similar to the images in this article. Furthermore, it displays the Top 10 commenters so you could see if you are in the running. Ok, it’s actually Top 11 (since the other one is me). 🙂

Top Commenter - November 2010

The first set of top commenters announced were from the previous September and October 2010. They were treated to an Angel’s Pizza foodie gathering. For this set of winners, we’re going to try out Figaro‘s new breakfast meals (or anything you like actually)!

Figaro Now Offers All Day Breakfast; New Desserts

Positioning itself as a Filipino cafe in a sea of coffee shops in the metro, Figaro Coffee Company has adopted itself to something unusually found in a typical coffee shop setup: a Filipino Breakfast Meal.

Corned Beef Breakfast

Corned Beef Breakfast

Prepared by Chef Carl Marxist Tan, I’ve all tried Figaro‘s three breakfast meals namely: Pork Longganisa, Classic Corned Beef, and Gourmet Crispy Tuyo (Dried Fish).

I am torn between the pork longganisa and corned beef, they are both good. Perhaps, I’ll just leave that for you to decide.

If you have the Filipino sweet tooth and doesn’t mind the extra fat, go for the homemade Pork Longganisa. You’ll love it and ask for more.

If you decide to get more serious and prefer it a little salty in the morning, the corned beef sauteed in onion breakfast is for you.

However, I would say that the Crispy Tuyo needs a little improvement in the preparation. Given that it has the “crispy” on the meal title, it somehow fell short of that expectation. Other than that, the tuyo flakes was ok.

All three sets priced at P175 come with a fried farm sunny side up egg and tomato-cucumber salsa on the side. It is also paired with an 8 oz. Figaro brewed coffee.

New Desserts

Figaro also adds 2 new desserts to its sweet line: the Chocolate Eclair and Ambrosia.

Eclairs are long custard-filled pastries. This one is covered with chocolate on top. I recommend Ambrosia, also known as Food for the gods.

And yes, you can order the Figaro All Day Breakfast “all day.” 🙂

Figaro is a 100% Filipino owned coffee company and sources its coffee beans locally to support the industry.

Summer Continues with Figaro’s Summer Frost

The Philippine national weather agency recently announced that the Philippines will experience a lengthened summer extending from May to end of June.

This means that the 38 or so degrees Celsius temperature everyday would most likely to be experienced up to next month.

Thank goodness that in this country, drink coolers abound. One such to be sought for is Figaro‘s Summer Frost line of icy cool drinks to quench that heat-drenched throat.

Figaro‘s Summer Frost is a mix of finely blended ice for that smooth refreshing gulp that comes in three varieties namely Watermelon Grape Breeze, Green Apple Cucumber Whirl, and Peach Lychee Sunrise.

Having tried all those three, my favorite is the sweet Watermelon Grape Breeze with grape skin fiber. Peach Lychee comes next with the strong lychee flavor and finally the Green Apple Cucumber.

Try one now as Figaro‘s summer quencher Summer Frost is available only until June 22, 2010 at P125 each.
