NomNom Club recently discovered a newly opened restaurant at the newest food hub in town – Toast Asian Kitchen & Tasting Room at the Ayala Malls the 30th.
They offer an array of Asian dishes with a twist! Toast Asian Kitchen‘s food has a unique take on what you’d expect of Asian food. The chefs take traditional recipes and add a twist of modern or local cooking styles and concepts to add a flair of distinct flavor combinations. Each dish is meticulously prepared with fresh premium ingredients making each bite an explosive treat for the tastebuds.
For example, they’ve got the Blaksa – a well-loved Asian cuisine Laksa combined with black squid ink; hence the name. Other creations include wagyu dishes, croquettes, and Thai chicken poppers, to name a few.

Good Bites & Good Vibes
The restaurant ambience exudes a bit of sophistication from the interiors to the tables and chairs while maintaining a relaxed-vibe. It’s a good go-to-place to unwind from a busy day at work or even hangout with your fellow-yuppie friends, specially at night.
Aside from the good food, Toast also serves good booze.
Danny Meyer, a restaurateur from New York said, “A cocktail done right can really show your customers you care†and with all the effort Toast went through to formulate their one-of-a-kind cocktails, it is quite evident how much they do. The complex flavor combinations of the dishes are complemented with Toast’s selection of alcoholic drinks.
Cocktails are given a special twist by renowned Singaporean mixologist Jason Gray.
Toast will be bringing Gray in to the country to train the Toast staff personally and serve drinks during Toast’s grand launch. While classic bar staples like the Mojito, Martini, and Amaretto Sour make an appearance on their bar list, Toast urges its customers to try their signature cocktails which Gray had a hand in helping concoct.
These includes the Jack Sparrow, Summer in the City, East Meets West, and the Mankari Sour, all of which use top-notch imported liquor bases and are mixed with playfully exotic mixers.
Beers are served from a curated selection of both staple local brands and specialty craft beers imported from breweries abroad.
Other dishes I’m looking forward to try in my next visit includes the ‘Gyozig‘, Japanese dumplings stuffed with sisig. Salted Egg Creme Brulee, a simultaneous burst of sweet and salty in every bite, and their signature Longganisa Pasta, fuscili pasta spirals topped with authentic vigan longganisa for that savory garlic kick that complements its tomato cream sauce.
“Toast is more than just dining and drinking, it’s about giving you an amazing day and an awesome night. We serve the food and beverage you’re looking for, but we definitely aim to give you so much more.†shares Timo Roxas-Chua, one of the owners of Toast.
