Titania Wine Bar

We trooped to Yakal Street in San Antonio Village, Makati a few weeks ago as part of the Avida Food Hunt scouting foodie finds around the community of a nearby Avida property. Titania Wine Bar and Café was our first stop.

I lived nearby Pasong Tamo for about 5 years until 2012 and I have been seeing Titania in the last few; but I never really got the chance to check it out.

So this was my first time to set foot inside Titania and a good discovery was that aside from the fine dining restaurant that is Titania Wine Bar and Café, there exists deeper inside a wine cellar.

The Titania Grand Cellar is Asia’s first temperature-controlled area for fine wines.

They are a global wine importer so here, we tasted fine wines imported from France, Italy, Spain, Chile, Argentina, California and Australia, among others.

Some of the red and white wine brands we tried were from Hillcrest, Great Trail, Natalie Sweet, Caliterra, and Piccint.

Expectedly, food pairing is almost always part of a wine tasting activity.

So we had choice chorizo and different cheeses to match the different wines.

They also have wines which retails upto a whooping Php 98,000 – it’s the Chateau Mouton de Rothschild 2009 – but I guess fine wines do come with price.

Aside from retailing wines, they also accept small group events and wine tasting seminars in the grand wine cellar. Wine lovers will surely love the ambience of the place which reminds me of stone houses surrounding vineyards of old. Know more about the Avida Food Hunt here.
