Do you still remember the times when you used to bring “baon” (lunch/snacks) to school? Well, it seems that it’s not so common anymore today.
With the modern times and children knowing the various options they have from the food market or even the school canteen, most kids these days would prefer cash allowance over the ready-made food “baon” so they can conveniently decide the food they want to eat. However, the “convenient” choice is not always the “best“, much less healthy.
Although it is more convenient for parents to give children money to buy food in school. The problem arises in the quality and nutritional content of the food they buy.
With this in mind, Lock & Lock would like to endorse and bring back the habit of making “baon” for our kids. They would like to encourage children and parents alike to prefer the healthy baon “made with love”. <3

National Pa-Baon Month
Global brand Lock&Lock, a leader in food container technology, declares June 2016 as “National Pa-Baon Month.†The campaign is timely and relevant as students begin the new school year. Bringing baon is a tradition that is not commonly practiced anymore due to the fast-paced lifestyle we live in.
Preparing baon takes effort, but it is a sacrifice that is worth it considering the dangers of unhealthy food choices on school children.
Alarming Statistics
The 8th National Nutrition Survey of the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) revealed that 9% of pre-school children aged 5-10 are overweight or obese. Among adolescents and teens 10-19 years old, the number is higher at 13%.
Overweight and obese children are more likely to stay obese into their adulthood and have a higher risk of developing diseases associated with obesity like Type-2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, various forms of cancer and other disorders at a younger age.
