actually, i dont suggest stocking food in cars. what you need to have is a cool box in the car. the environs of a car is too stuffy and cooked food will spoil easily. i would suggest that you lug around a cooler in the trunk. since most cars have a 60/40 backseat configuration, make sure it is placed immediately behind the longer backrest so it is easy to reach. put the food in the cooler BEFORE you leave the house. leaving bottled water in the car is not a good idea because the humidity builds up when you're parked for hours. that degrade the quality of your water and encourages the growth of bacteria, especially when the bottle has already touched your lips. some newer nissan models like the nissan safari, urvan, toyota grandia and nissan navarra have a ref that comes standard. keep it on when the airconditioner is on to preserve your food and water/drinks. always plan your trip when you leave the house to make sure you maximize your gas and lessen the chances of having to go to areas that flood easily. lastly, have a charger for your cellphone plugged into the cigarette lighter. thanks jonel!

I also grew up with lots of stocked food in our house. Even if we can't go out during the weather, we have something to eat.
